BLOCK #1: FRIDAY, JANUARY 12 (9AM – 12PM)

  • Intro to AcroYoga
  • Partner Acrobatics Workshop
  • Get High with your Friends!

Enjoy the fun and excitement of Parter Acrobatics and AcroYoga in a safe, fun and supportive environment. You will learn the power of trust, communication and support through basing, flying and spotting. We will learn and refine a wide range of foundational elements which will give you the tools necessary to build your AcroYoga practice. Wear comfortable clothing; no partner or previous experience required!

BLOCK #2: FRIDAY, JANUARY 12 (2PM – 5PM)

  • Partner Therapeutics Workshop
  • Soft and Strong

Learn and refine your ability to give and receive flying therapeutics. We will cover basic concepts of receptivity, communication, foundational therapeutic postures as well as transitions from one pose to the next. Wear comfortable clothing; no partner or previous experience required. Come prepared to enjoy the benefits of floating massage!

BLOCK #3: SATURDAY, JANUARY 13 (9AM – 12PM)

  • Partner Acrobatics Workshop
  • Grace in Flight and Smooth Transitions

Learn and refine your ability to transition(s) gracefully in and out of several foundational AcroYoga poses, with a focus towards washing machines. This workshop is for all levels. No experience necessary, come alone or bring a friend.

BLOCK #4: SUNDAY, JANUARY 13 (2PM – 5PM)

  • Intro to Acrobatic Popping Workshop
  • Catch Some Air

Learn techniques and concepts to pop with ease and confidence. We will explore how to use popping as a transition to and from several posses with a focus on tempo, throwing and catching. Some previous experience recommended, no partner necessary.

BLOCK #5: SUNDAY, JANUARY 14 (9AM – 12PM)

  • Advanced Acrobatic Transitions
  • From the Ground Up

This advanced acrobatics workshop will cover techniques and transitions for popping, spinning, and moving from L-basing to standing and back down again. Previous experience highly recommended, no partner necessary.

Anthony Alcalde began his journey as a healer and teacher in 1998. He currently teaches various styles of Yoga in Nicaragua/Peru and Internationally. He is a 500hr Certified Yoga and AcroYoga Instructor. As a yoga, acroyoga instructor, thai yoga practitioner and movement educator, he finds balance through giving and receiving. Thus celebrating the spirit of connection, empowerment and playfulness in his life. He embodies the beauty of trust through his practice of yoga & acroyoga.

Anthony is also an accountant, public speaker, and an award winning documentary filmmaker.  From his work you will see his passion for social justice issues and the relationship it has to his country of heritage.  He attended Seton Hall and the University of Utah in pursuit of his B.A. in Accounting.  His film career began in the accounting department for the USA Network, Warner Brothers and the Sundance Film Festival.  Shortly after moving back to New York, he worked as a Production Accountant and Manager for such Networks as E! Entertainment, Style and MTV.

At this time, Anthony Alcalde is happy to currently serve the Nicaraguan & Peruvian community and has a strong focus on sharing compassionate and positive communication in his teachings. His services offer an opportunity to reconnect with your inner light and grow the ability to heal from the inside out. This is exactly the purpose that Anthony sets for his students and classes. For every pose, there is a gentle intention. For every emotion, there is an unbiased connection. He encourages his students to listen to their bodies, find their inner voices, and rewrite any stories that don’t honor their truths.

Anthony is from a multi-ethnic background, grew up in the Atlantic Northeast (New Jersey/New York) and currently lives in Nicaragua.
