During your mushroom tour in Ometepe, you will learn about our incredible fungi cultivation. We proudly grow two incredible types of mushrooms here at El Zopilote: Oyster and Reishi.

Oyster and Reishi: Our Cultivated Fungi

Oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus) are famous for their delicate flavor and meaty texture. They are rich in protein, fiber, essential B vitamins, antioxidants, and compounds. These elements may help support the immune system, lower cholesterol, and improve gut health. You can taste them fresh at our farm-to-table restaurant.

Reishi mushrooms (Ganoderma lucidum) earn the title “mushroom of immortality”. Traditional medicine has used Reishi for centuries. People value it highly for its adaptogenic properties. It helps the body manage stress, supports immunity, improves sleep quality, and promotes overall vitality. We grow it specifically for medicinal teas, tinctures, and natural wellness. You can find these items in our BUSHOP
