Would you like to create a sustainable project? Perhaps you simply do not know where to start. First, join us for our practical introduction to permaculture design. We host this two-day event at El Zopilote Eco Hostel and Sustainability Learning Center. Our authentic permaculture farm boasts over 20 years of tropical experience. Furthermore, this intensive course offers a complete step-by-step framework. Consequently, we help you observe land and understand ecological patterns. Ultimately, you will design your own regenerative property.

Learning and Farm Exploration

During the first day, we focus heavily on learning and exploring nature. First, we introduce the core principles of permaculture design to all students. Afterward, we walk across our beautiful farm to observe real working examples. Specifically, you will discover our solar and renewable energy setups in action. Moreover, we explain our greywater recycling systems and compost toilets. You will also study natural building techniques with traditional cob. Finally, we explore organic nursery management, rich food forests, guild planting, and aquaponics.

Practical Permaculture Design Session

On the second day, you put your fresh ideas onto paper through hands-on practice. Working with graph paper and simple tools, you develop a complete permaculture plan. You will create this actionable vision for a real property. Together as a group, we discuss clever design solutions and common mistakes. Furthermore, we analyze crucial site considerations and practical everyday possibilities. As a result, you will know exactly how to start designing. Therefore, you can confidently build your own sustainable property anywhere.
