Welcome to a truly unique spiritual experience on our island. We regularly host a powerful shamanic drum workshop in Ometepe. We organize these special ceremonial events directly at El Zopilote Eco Hostel. Generally, we collaborate with amazingly talented local artists. For example, we proudly work with skilled creators like Cedro and Camillo. Furthermore, we also collaborate with Ahau de la Selva. Together, we help you craft your very own ceremonial instrument completely from scratch. Consequently, you experience the sacred rhythms and connect with your inner pulse deeply.
Crafting with Local Natural Materials
During the workshop, you build everything using beautiful sustainable local elements. Specifically, we gather high-quality wood directly from our own permaculture farm. We provide fantastic natural cedar and sturdy laurel wood for your instrument. Next, we source authentic animal skins from Balgue. This friendly nearby village proudly supports our traditional island crafts. Therefore, every single material comes from our beautiful Nicaraguan surroundings. Ultimately, you create a completely unique and handmade ceremonial drum. You proudly take this powerful drum home at the end of the session.
A Transformative Ceremonial Experience
Building a sacred drum requires pure intention and focused energy. First, our expert artists guide you through every single step carefully. They teach you traditional crafting techniques with great patience. Moreover, they share ancient knowledge about sound healing and natural rhythms. Working with your hands becomes a deeply meditative process. After your crafting session, you can relax comfortably. For instance, you might join our daily yoga classes to stretch. Alternatively, you can simply rest at our peaceful eco hostel accommodation.
