Every Wednesday at 1 p.m. at El Zopilote, we host a guided Cacao Ceremony designed to deepen human connection. This is not a workshop about the technical preparation of cacao, but a collective journey into presence, vulnerability, and authentic exchange.
Through gentle, guided exercises, participants are invited to connect with one another in a safe and respectful space. You may find yourself sitting face-to-face with someone, looking into each other’s eyes in silence, sharing words of appreciation, speaking about strengths and even imperfections, or opening up about personal experiences. These moments are simple yet powerful.
Cacao is known as a heart-opening plant. When shared intentionally, it helps us soften, listen more deeply, and connect beyond surface-level conversation. The ceremony creates an atmosphere where meaningful encounters arise naturally.
You do not need to come as a couple. Pairs and small groups are formed during the ceremony, making this a beautiful opportunity to meet new people, locals, expats, and travelers alike, and experience authentic connection.
There is usually a sacred fire present, adding warmth and grounding to the gathering. The ceremony is facilitated by different experienced practitioners from Ometepe, rotating regularly to give space to the many skilled and passionate facilitators who live on the island. Each brings their own unique style while honoring the spirit of cacao.

Money should not be a barrier to participation; exchanges are welcome if arranged in advance.
